PAL Teens are DC Bound

One of the best parts about working with our National Police Athletic/Activities League (NPAL) is that they work to provide us local chapters with once in a lifetime opportunities for our teens and in two weeks two of our teens will be taking advantage of once such opportunity.

Cecilia and Marnina have been PAL teens the last two years. They pioneered our girls group and learned alongside some of our amazing female officers and deputies: Julie Ballou, Katie Endresen, Robin Yakhour, and Danielle Wass. They have grown a lot over the last couple of years and this past June they both graduated from high school!

So, when NPAL said they were hosting a teen leadership and peer mentoring conference, we knew that we needed to get these two ladies there. With the support a grant through NPAL, Cecilia and Marnina will travel to Washington, DC with Detective Danielle Wass of the Vancouver Police Department. The entire trip will be covered by this grant!

Cecilia and Marnina will work on youth voice projects and learn about leadership with teens from PAL chapters all across the country. They are super excited about this opportunity and Detective Wass is just as excited to join them.

Two weeks from today they will begin their journey and when they come back they will tell us in their own words what they learned. Safe travels Cecilia, Marnina, and Danielle! We wish you the best and cannot wait to hear about your adventure!
