Here at PAL, Lydia and I are thankful for many things this year, and this year has really flown by! We have two months left of 2017 and many things to be appreciative of, and during this time of year people begin to remember what they are thankful for. Though we should remember this all year round, the holidays do bring it out more. We are thankful for those in our lives that support us, we are thankful for the jobs we have, or the home we live in. I know I am thankful for my loved ones (including the animals in my life) who always love and support me, for a roof over my head and food in my cupboards. I am also very thankful for my job at PAL. Working at PAL makes me feel like I am making a difference in our community, and that is something to be truly grateful for. I encourage you all to think about and share what you are thankful for this holiday season, and all year round for that matter. It is in good practice to say thanks to those around us and express gratitude.
Lydia, what are you thankful for this year?
I’m thankful for so much this year it feels like a daunting task to try to pick out just the highlights. However, I do realize that this is not a bad problem to have so I’m not complaining! This year I’m thankful for a family that sees all the messy parts of me and loves me to bits just the same. I’m thankful to have a boyfriend who makes me laugh and listens to me endlessly talk about the beauty of In-N-Out. I’m also SO thankful for all of the amazing people that I’ve met this year working for PAL. From the mentors and students in my Prospere groups to the board members and Police officers; you have all been so welcoming to me, and I’ve loved these last months of working alongside you all. I love this time of the year; it seems like as the leaves change, our mindsets start changing as well. It changes in order for us to begin a new season of reflection and thankfulness for the people and things we have been given. I hope everyone reading has an amazing Holiday Season, filled with loved ones and good food. Eat lots & remember to take some time to just be thankful.
