If you know anything about PAL, it is that we love to partner and collaborate with other organizations to maximize the reach and impact we can all have on our community. So… we are of course, very happy to announce a new partnership and collaborative mentoring program with Rocksolid Community Teen Center and the Salvation Army!
Reaching a population more north than we are usually able to serve, this program has a further stretch because of these awesome partner sites! The curriculum, adapted from Badges for Baseball, focuses on building character and teaching critical life lessons in a safe and honest environment. Those involved are looking to encourage young people towards making life enriching decisions and being a solid presence in their lives is the first step.
Over the course of the next several months, we plan to serve approximately 50 youth between the two sites. These youth will learn about leadership, responsibility, work ethic, and how to make long lasting friendships. They will have the opportunity to serve together, go on field trips, and at least three of them will receive the chance to travel to Washington, DC this summer with PAL for the National Teen Youth Summit.
We can’t wait to see how this new program develops this year! Be on the lookout for updates and youth highlights as we get underway. And thank you to all involved in making this happen!
