We are happy to announce our Volunteer of the Quarter as Officer Tyler Chavers of the VPD! One of the more familiar faces in the community, as he is an active Neighborhood Police Officer, Tyler Chavers has been a solid and smiling presence here at PAL for quite some time, and not only as a volunteer, but as a board member in recent years as well!
Having started his career in Alaska in 1997, Officer Chavers has been in law enforcement for over 21 years. After moving to Vancouver in 2004, we have been blessed to have him here, always going above and beyond to make this community a safer and happier place.
Officer Chavers has been actively involved with us here at PAL for over three years, and if anyone is always ready to engage with youth, it’s this guy! He consistently attends our VPD Literacy Events, reading and signing books for elementary students, and he has also been a member of PAL Patrol, adopting a classroom to visit and support them throughout the school year.
You can find him all over the city, visiting summer camps, popping by fundraisers, and starring in online videos to help PAL engage with our online followers! This year, Officer Chavers even jumped on board our first ever PAL Squad, and ran in the Appletree Marathon with several other officers and members of the community to help raise over $30,000 for the organization!
We don’t have words to express our thankfulness to Officer Chavers for his dedication to PAL and the the Vancouver community. With a constant good nature, and a caring heart, he is out there changing the world for the better and we are so proud to know this man and serve with him!
If you see him out and about, please join us in saying congratulations and thank you for everything you do!
