Fall is in the air, school has started and homecoming has come and gone. Meaning Prospere is back in session. Already we have been to five schools, and it’s only the second week of October! We are on a role here at the Police Activities League. This school year we are at twelve schools, including three new Vancouver and Evergreen schools. PALs Prospere program is now at Fort Vancouver High School, Heritage High School and Alki Middle School.
We have recruited some amazing individuals as mentors this year! Our mentors come from the Vancouver Police Department, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Clark County Juvenile Justice Center, Port of Vancouver, IQ Credit Union and many other great companies and organizations. The PAL team and the youth we work with thank all of our new and continuing mentors for their time and dedication to this program!
This year we are also continuing old partnerships and starting new ones with companies to provide our youth lunch for our Prospere groups. Some of the companies we are collaborating with are: Chick-Fil-A, Seize the Bagel, Chuck’s Produce, Fireside Subs, and Foode! The teens love your food and we appreciate the continued partnership!
It’s been a great start to the school year with our Prospere groups we have gone to. The students seem excited and eager to be a part of PAL and our program. We are excited to see the relationships between the teens and mentors grow and develop this year!
